To bring Maria Valtorta out of a devotionalism that is deleterious and the enemy of intelligence is the purpose of this book. It is then to investigate, as far as possible, in a rigorous and scientific way the events of her life; to get out of the “rumors” and enter into the facts that characterized the life of this woman born in Caserta of Lombard parents and educated in various Milanese boarding schools. Moving to various places following the various destinations of her father, an army marshal, she eventually arrived in Viareggio in 1924 and remained there until her death on 12 October. Paralyzed from the waist down by a bolt received in 1920, from 1934 she was stuck in a bed. From 23 April 1943 she receives a first locution and then continuous dictations and visions. From late 1943 she has very detailed visions of the life of Jesus which, collected in ten volumes, will become The Gospel as it was revealed to me. A unique case in history, his visions are all scientifically based and proven by various academics.
